Hadith 23769
٢٣٧٦٩ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا (وكيع قال: حدثنا) (١) (أبو خلف) (٢) عن أبي الزبير عن جابر قال: من انتهب نهبة ذات شرف (يشهره) (٣) بها المسلمون فليس منا، قيل لأبي الزبير: عن النبي ﷺ (٤) [قال: (عن) (٥) النبي ﷺ (٦)] (٧) (٨).
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that whoever picked up a valuable item and because of that became notorious among the Muslims (i.e., everyone began to consider his action bad), then he is not from among us. The narrator says that I asked Abu az-Zubair (may Allah have mercy on him) whether this is transmitted from the Prophet ﷺ? He (may Allah have mercy on him) replied, yes, it is narrated from the Prophet ﷺ.
