Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) entered the treasury, and when he found it light, he said: By Allah, I will not spend the night while there remains even a single dirham upon you. Then he called a man from the tribe of Asad and said to him: Distribute it. He kept distributing until evening came. The people said: If you are given something in return for this? He replied: If he wishes, but it is unlawful. He said: We have no need of your unlawful and forbidden things.
