٢٣٦٨٤ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا (وكيع قال: حدثنا) (١) سفيان عن أبي النضر عن (أبي) (٢) أنس قال: سمعت عثمان يقول: لا تُكلِّفوا الصغير الكسب فيسرق، ولا (تكلفوا) (٣) الجارية غير ذات الصنع فتكسب بفرجها، (واعفوا) (٤) ⦗٣٠٩⦘ (إذ) (٥) أعفكم اللَّه، وعليكم من المكاسب (بما) (٦) طاب لكم (٧).
Hazrat Usman (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Do not make a child responsible for earning, otherwise he will steal; and do not make a slave-girl responsible for earning, otherwise she will earn through her private parts; and remain chaste as long as Allah has kept you chaste, and for you are those profits which are pure and lawful for you.
