Hadith 23605
٢٣٦٠٥ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا حسين بن علي عن زائدة عن عبد الملك بن عمير عن ربعي قال: قال عقبة بن عمرو لحذيفة: حدثني بشيء سمعته من رسول اللَّه ﷺ (قال) (١): (سمعت رسول اللَّه ﷺ) (٢) يقول: "كان (٣) فيمن كان قبلكم (رجل) (٤) أتاه الملك ليقبض روحه فقال: هل (عملت) (٥) خيرًا؟ قال: ما أعلمه، قال: انظر، قال: ما أعلمه، إلا أني كنت رجلا (أجازف) (٦) الناس وأخالطهم، فكنت أنظر المعسر وأتجاوز عن (الموسر) (٧) فأدخله اللَّه الجنة" قال عقبة: وأنا سمعته يقول ذلك (٨).
The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There was a man among those before you, an angel came to seize his soul and asked him, "Do you have any good deed?" He replied, "I do not know." The angel said, "Reflect." The man said, "Other than this, I do not know anything: when selling, I used to give people respite; I would grant respite to the one in difficulty and be lenient with the wealthy." So Allah Almighty admitted him into Paradise.
