Hadith 23602
٢٣٦٠٢ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا أبو معاوية عن الأعمش عن (شقيق) (١) عن (أبي) (٢) (مسعود) (٣) قال: قال النبي ﷺ: "حوسب (رجل) (٤) ممن كان قبلكم فلم يوجد له من الخير (شيء) (٥) إلا (أنه) (٦) كان رجلا موسرا (يخالط) (٧) الناس فيقول لغلمانه: تجاوزوا عن المعسر، فقال اللَّه لملائكته: فنحن أحق بذلك منه، فتجاوزوا عنه" (٨).
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: A man from among those before you was called to account. He had no good deeds in his record except that he was a wealthy man and used to deal with people. He had instructed his servants to give respite to those in difficulty. Allah Almighty said to the angels: I am more deserving of this (quality), so overlook (forgive, grant respite to) him.
