Hadith 23601
٢٣٦٠١ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا ابن عيينة عن عمرو قال: سمعت (عبيد بن عمير) (١) قال: كان رجل يداين الناس ويبايعهم، وكان له كاتب ⦗٢٨٢⦘ و (متجازٍ) (٢) فيأتيه المعسر والمستنظر فيقول (له) (٣): كل وانظر وتجاوز اليوم، يتجاوز عنا، قال: فلقي اللَّه ولم يعمل خيرا غيره فغفر له.
It is narrated from Hazrat Ubaid bin Umair (may Allah have mercy on him) that there was a man who used to lend money to people and also trade with them. He had a scribe and a debt collector. Whenever a destitute person came to him, he would say to his scribe, "Weigh and give it to him, and also grant him some respite. Forgive him for today." In return for this, Allah will forgive us. That man met Allah in such a state that, apart from this deed, he had not done any other good deed. So Allah Almighty forgave him.
