Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Wahb bin Kaysan reports that Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) was asked whether the call to prayer (adhan) is obligatory for women. Upon hearing this question, Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) became angry and said, "Should I forbid the remembrance of Allah?!"
