في شهادة الأخ لأخيهA Brother Testifying for His Brother
Hadith 23171
٢٣١٧١ - [حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا ابن فضيل عن عطاء بن أبي رباح، قال: كان بين رجلين من الحي خصومة، فشهد لأحدهما أخوه لأبيه وأمه عند شريح، فقال (للرجل) (١): أنت أخوه؟ (قال) (٢): فهل لك من الذي تشهد عليه شئ؟ قال: لا، (فقال) (٣) لخصمه: فبأي شيء أرد شهادته.
It is narrated from Hazrat Ata bin Abi Rabah (may Allah have mercy on him) that there was a dispute between two men of a neighborhood. For one of them, his brother testified before Hazrat Shurayh (may Allah have mercy on him). The other man said, "You are his brother." Hazrat Shurayh (may Allah have mercy on him) asked, "Do you have any interest with this person for which you are testifying?" He replied, "No." Hazrat Shurayh then said to the opponent, "Then on what basis are you rejecting his testimony?"
