Hadith 23144
٢٣١٤٤ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا ابن علية عن يونس قال: زعموا أن الحسن كان يقول في رجل أعتق بعض مملوكه عند (موته) (١)، (قال) (٢): يعتق منه ما عتق ويستسعى فيما بقي.
It is narrated from Yunus, may Allah have mercy on him, that people used to think that Hasan, may Allah have mercy on him, had said regarding the person who freed some of his slaves during his terminal illness, that as much as he has freed, that much will be considered freed, and for the remaining portion, the slave will be made to strive for its price.
