٢٣٠٩٣ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا جرير عن مغيرة عن إبراهيم في (الرجل) (١) يرهن (عنده) (٢) الرجل (الرهن) (٣) فيقول: إن لم آتك به إلى كذا وكذا فهو (لك) (٤)، قال: الرهن لا يغلق، وإن (قال: إن) (٥) لم آتك به إلى ⦗١٥٣⦘ كذا وكذا فبعه و (اقتض) (٦) الذي لك، قال: لا (يكون) (٧) أمين نفسه ولا (يبعه) (٨).
It is narrated from Ibrahim, may Allah have mercy on him, that if a person, while pawning something to another, says: "If I do not bring you such and such amount, then this thing is yours," he (Ibrahim) said: In the case of not being able to pay the specified amount, the pawnee does not become its owner. And if, at the time of pawning, he says: "If I do not bring you such and such amount, then sell this and recover your due from it," he (Ibrahim) said: He will not be trustworthy regarding himself. He should not sell it.
