Hadith 22775
٢٢٧٧٥ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا ابن فضيل عن أشعث عن الشعبي والحكم أنهما قالا: إذا كان على الرجل الدين وبقية من مكاتبته، (قالا) (١): ينظر إلى ما حل عليه من نجومه وما كان لغرمائه فيقسم ذلك بالحصص.
Hazrat Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on him) and Hazrat Hakam state that if a slave has debt and the compensation for the contract of emancipation (mukatabat) is also remaining, then the installment that has become due will be considered, and whatever portion of it belongs to his creditors will be distributed among them according to their respective shares.
