Hadith 22667
٢٢٦٦٧ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا وكيع عن سفيان عن ابن طاوس عن أبيه عن ابن عباس قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "من ابتاع طعامًا فلا (يبعه) (١) حتى ⦗٤٩⦘ يكتاله" (٢)، قلت لابن عباس: (لم قال؟) (٣): ألا ترى أنهم (يبتاعون) (٤) (بالذهب) (٥) والطعام مرجأ (٦).
It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever buys food should not sell it further before measuring it. The narrator (may Allah have mercy on him) says that I asked Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) why this is so? He (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: Do you not see that those people buy (and sell) in such a way for gold that the food is deferred?
