Hadith 22214
٢٢٢١٤ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا ابن علية عن ابن عون عن نافع عن ابن عمر قال: أصاب عمر أرضا بخيبر فأتى النبي ﷺ فقال (١): أصبت أرضًا بخيبر لم أصب مالًا قط أنفس منه عندي، فما تأمرني؟ قال: (إن شئت حبست أصلها وتصدقت بها)، قال: فتصدق بها، (غير) (٢) أنه لا يباع أصلها، ولا يوهب، ولا يورث (٣).
It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) received land in Khaybar (from the spoils of war). He presented himself before the Prophet (peace be upon him) and said: I have received land in Khaybar, and I have never acquired wealth more beloved to me than this. What do you command me regarding it? The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: If you wish, keep the original land and give its produce as charity. So Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) gave its produce as charity. The original land will neither be sold nor gifted, nor will it be inherited.
