Hadith 21592
٢١٥٩٢ - حدثنا ابن نمير عن أبي (الغصن) (١) قال: سمعت الشعبي وأراد أن يحلف نصرانيا (فقال) (٢): أحلف باللَّه، فقال الشعبي: قد تركتم اللَّه وأنتم تبصرون (اذهبوا) (٣) به إلى البيعة (واستحلفوه) (٤) بما يستحلف به أهل دينهم.
Hazrat Abu al-Ghasn narrates that once a Christian began to swear by Allah in the presence of Hazrat Sha’bi. Hazrat Sha’bi said, “You have abandoned Allah, and you see as well.” Then he ordered that the man be taken to the church and made to swear by whatever the people of his religion swear by.
