Hadith 21415
٢١٤١٥ - حدثنا علي بن مسهر عن بن أبي إسحاق الشيباني (عن مسلم) (١) بن (صبيح) (٢) قال: (خطر علي رجل) (٣) من البصرة، ومعه مصاحف يبيعها (فأتيت) (٤) (مسروق) (٥) بن (الأجدع) (٦) وعبد اللَّه بن يزيد الأنصاري وشريحًا فسألتهم فقالوا: (ما) (٧) (نحب) (٨) أن (نأخذ) (٩) بكتاب اللَّه ثمنا.
Hazrat Muslim bin Subaih narrates that a man from Basra passed by me who was selling copies of the Qur'an. I went to Masruq bin Akwa', Hazrat Abdullah bin Yazid Ansari, and Hazrat Shurayh and asked them about it. They replied, "We do not like to receive a price in exchange for the Book of Allah."
