Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Dawood bin Abi Hind says that a man bought some goods from another man on the condition of payment at a fixed time and left it with the seller. At night, a fire broke out in the house and some of the goods were burnt. I asked Hazrat Sha’bi about this, and he said that the loss is borne by the one in whose possession it was.
