Hadith 21122
٢١١٢٢ - حدثنا ابن (عيينة) (١) عن عبد اللَّه بن دينار قال: ذهبت مع ابن عمر إلى بني معاوية (فنبحت) (٢) علينا (كلاب) (٣) فقال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "من اقتنى كلبًا إلا كلب ضارية أو ماشية نقص من أجره كل يوم (قيراطان) (٤) " (٥).
Hazrat Abdullah bin Dinar narrates that I went with Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) towards Banu Muawiyah. There, some dogs barked at us, so Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) said that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Whoever keeps a dog for any purpose other than hunting or guarding livestock, two qirats will be deducted from his reward every day.
