Hadith 20697
٢٠٦٩٧ - حدثنا أبو معاوية عن الأعمش عن مسلم عن سعيد بن جبير عن ابن عباس قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "ما من أيام العمل الصالح فيها أحبُّ إلى اللَّه من هذه الأيام"، يعني أيام العشر قالوا: يا رسول اللَّه ولا الجهاد في سبيل اللَّه؟ قال: "ولا الجهاد في سبيل اللَّه، إلا رجل خرج بنفسه، وماله فلم يرجع (من) (١) ذلك بشيء" (٢).
It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah. The people asked, "O Messenger of Allah! Are these days even better than striving in the way of Allah?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) replied: "These days are even better than striving in the way of Allah, except for a man who goes out with his life and wealth in the way of Allah and returns with nothing."
