Hadith 20674
٢٠٦٧٤ - حدثنا عبد الرحيم بن سليمان عن هشام بن عروة عن أبيه أن أول رجل سل سيفًا في سبيل اللَّه الزبيز (١) [(نفح) (٢) نفحة (من الشيطان) (٣)] (٤) (٥): أخذ رسول اللَّه (٦) فخرج الزبير يشق الناس بسيفه ورسول اللَّه ﷺ (٧) بأعلى (مكة) (٨) قال: فلقي النبي ﷺ فقال: "مالك يا زبير؟ " (قال) (٩): أخبرت أنك أخذت؟ قال: فصلى عليه ودعا له ولسيفه (١٠).
Hazrat Urwah (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that the first person to draw a sword in the path of Allah was Hazrat Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him). Once, a rumor spread that the disbelievers had captured the Prophet ﷺ. Upon hearing this, Hazrat Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) took up his sword and went out, passing through the people. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was in the upper part of Makkah. When they met, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked, "O Zubair! What happened?" Hazrat Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) replied, "I heard that the disbelievers had captured you." Upon this, the Prophet ﷺ prayed for him and also prayed for his sword.
