Hadith 20640
٢٠٦٤٠ - حدثنا عفان عن سليمان بن كثير حدثني ابن شهاب عن عطاء بن يزيد عن أبي سعيد الخدري قال: قيل يا رسول اللَّه! أي المؤمنين أفضل؟ قال: "مؤمن مجاهد في سبيل اللَّه بنفسه وماله، (ومؤمن) (١) اعتزل في شعب من الجبال"، أو قال: "شعبة كفى الناس شره" (٢).
Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that once someone asked, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Who is the most virtuous believer?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: "The believer who strives in the path of Allah with his wealth and his life, and the believer who withdraws from people and sits in a mountain pass."
