Hadith 20611
٢٠٦١١ - حدثنا أبو أسامة عن عبد الرحمن بن يزيد (بن) (١) جابر قال: نا خالد ابن (معدان) (٢) قال: سمعت أبا (أمامة) (٣) وجبير بن نفير يقولان: (يأتي) (٤) على الناس (زمان) (٥) أفضل الجهاد الرباط، فقلت: (و) (٦) ما ذلك؟ فقال: إذا (انطاط) (٧) الغزو، وكثرت الغرائم، واستحلت الغنائم، فأفضل الجهاد (يومئذ) (٨) الرباط (٩).
Hazrat Abu Umamah and Hazrat Jubair bin Nufair (may Allah have mercy on them) say that a time will come upon the people when the most virtuous jihad will be ribat (guarding the frontiers). The narrator says: I asked, when will that be? They replied: When battles become few, tributes increase, and war booty is considered lawful (without proper reason), then at that time the most virtuous jihad is ribat.
