Hadith 20588
٢٠٥٨٨ - حدثنا غندر عن شعبة عن سماك عن (عبد) (١) اللَّه بن (شداد) (٢) أن رسول اللَّه ﷺ قال (لسعد) (٣) بن معاذ وهو يكيد بنفسه: "جزاك اللَّه خيرا من سيد قوم، فقد (صدقت) (٤) اللَّه ما وعدته، واللَّه صادقك ما وعدك" (٥).
Hazrat Abdullah bin Shaddad narrates that when Hazrat Saad bin Muadh (may Allah be pleased with him) was in the throes of death, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: O leader of the people! May Allah grant you the best reward. You fulfilled the promise you made to Allah with truthfulness, and Allah will also fulfill the promise He made to you with truthfulness.
