Hadith 20569
٢٠٥٦٩ - حدثنا محمد بن بشر نا مسعر عن حبيب بن أبي ثابت عن يحيى بن جعدة قال: قال عمر: لولا أن (أسير) (١) في سبيل اللَّه، أو أضع (جنبي للَّه) (٢) في التراب، أو أجالس قومًا يلتقطون طيب الكلام كما يلتقط طيب (التمر) (٣) ⦗٦٠⦘ (لأحببت) (٤) أن أكون قد لحقت باللَّه (٥).
Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) says that if I do not walk in the path of Allah, if I do not place my forehead on the ground in the path of Allah, and if I do not keep the company of those who select good words as carefully as fine dates are chosen, then I would wish for my death.
