Hadith 20539
٢٠٥٣٩ - حدثنا يزيد بن هارون أنا يحيى بن سعيد (عن سعيد) (١) عن عبد اللَّه بن أبي قتادة عن أبيه قال: جاء رجل إلى رسول اللَّه ﷺ فقال: (يا) (٢) رسول اللَّه! (إن) (٣) قتلت في سبيل (اللَّه) (٤) كفر اللَّه به (خطاياي) (٥) فقال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "إن قتلت في سبيل اللَّه (صابرًا) (٦) محتسبا مُقبلا غير مدبر كفر اللَّه به خطاياك إلا الدين، كذا قال لي (جبريل) (٧) " (٨).
Hazrat Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that a man came to the service of the Holy Prophet ﷺ and asked, "If I am martyred in the way of Allah, will all my sins be forgiven?" The Prophet ﷺ replied, "If you are martyred while being patient, seeking reward, advancing forward and not turning back, then all your deeds will be forgiven except for debt. Jibreel has informed me of this in the same way."
