Hazrat Hisham bin Urwah (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from a man that a woman said to her son, "Get me married." The son expressed displeasure at this. He went to Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) and presented the whole matter. Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "You go, I will come to you tomorrow." The next day Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) came and had a brief conversation with the woman, then took her son's hand and said, "You should get her married. By the One in whose hand is Umar's life! If Hantamah bint Hisham (the mother of Hazrat Umar, may Allah be pleased with him) had asked me to get her married, I would certainly have arranged her marriage." Thus, the man got his mother married.
