Hadith 17269
١٧٢٦٩ - حدثنا ابن (عيينة) (١) عن الزهري عن سعيد بن المسيب أن رافع بن خديج كانت تحته نجت محمد بن مسلمة فكره من أمرها إما كبرا أو (إما غيره) (٢) فأراد أن يطلقها فقالت: لا تطلقني واقسم (لي) (٣) ما شئت فجرت السنة بذلك فنزلت: ﴿وَإِنِ امْرَأَةٌ خَافَتْ مِنْ بَعْلِهَا نُشُوزًا أَوْ إِعْرَاضًا﴾ [النساء: ١٢٨] (٤).
Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyib narrates that the daughter of Muhammad bin Maslamah was married to Hazrat Rafi’ bin Khadij. Rafi’ bin Khadij disliked her due to her middle age or for some other reason, so he intended to divorce her. But the woman said that you should not divorce me, rather divide whatever you wish from my rights for me. After this, this practice became common and the verse of the Holy Qur’an was revealed: If a woman fears ill-treatment or aversion from her husband. (__QUR_N__)
