Hadith 16874
١٦٨٧٤ - حدثنا ابن علية عن منصور قال: سألت الحكم بن (عتيبة) (١) عن الرجل أصدق (ألفًا) (٢) في السر (و) (٣) أعلن ألفين قال: يؤخذ بالسر لأنه الحق وتبطل العلانية.
Hazrat Mansur says that I asked Hazrat Hakam bin Utaibah: If a man secretly fixes one thousand as dower and openly fixes two thousand, which one will be considered? He replied that the secretly stated amount will be considered because that is the right, and the openly stated amount will become invalid.
