في المرأة إذا تروجت بغير وليRuling if a Woman Marries Without Her Guardian’s Permission
Hadith 16697
١٦٦٩٧ - حدثنا معاوية (بن) (١) هشام قال: حدثنا سفيان عن رجل من أهل الجزيرة عن عمر بن عبد العزيز أن رجلًا (زوّج) (٢) امرأة ولها ولي هو (أولى) (٣) منه بدروب الروم، فرد عمر النكاح وقال: الولي وإلا فالسلطان.
A man from the people of Jazirah says that it is narrated from Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz (may Allah have mercy on him) that a man arranged the marriage of a woman while she had another close guardian besides that man. Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz (may Allah have mercy on him) rejected this marriage and said that the first right belongs to the guardian, then to the ruler.
