Hadith 15012
١٥٠١٢ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا وكيع عن فضيل بن مرزوق عن عطية قال: سألت مولى لابن عمر عن موت ابن عمر، قال: أصابه رجل من أهل الشام بزج، فدخل عليه الحجاج (يعوده) (١)، فقال: لو أعلم من أصابك لفعلت وفعلت: قال: أنت أصبتني، أدخلت (السلاح الحرم) (٢) (٣).
Hazrat Atiyyah narrates that I asked the slave of Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) about the cause of his death. He replied that the tip of an arrow from a person among the people of Syria had struck him. Hajjaj came to visit him during his illness. A person said, "If I had known that you would be hurt, I would have done such and such." He (Ibn Umar) replied, "It was you who caused me harm, for you entered the Haram with weapons."
