Hadith 14584
١٤٥٨٤ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا أبو بكر بن عياش عن (يحيى) (١) بن سعيد قال: كان (عمر بن) (٢) عبد العزيز (واقفًا) (٣) بعرفة، فقال: (يا) (٤) أيها الناس (قد) (٥) جئتم من القريب والبعيد، وإنكم وفد غير واحد، وإن السابق ليس الذي تسبق دابته ولا بعيره، وإن السابق من (غفر) (٦) اللَّه له ذنبه، فناداه رجل أين أصلي المغرب؟ قال: أين (أدركتك من واديك) (٧) هذا.
Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz was standing at Arafah and saying: O people! You have come from near and far, indeed you are not in one delegation (group). Among you, the one who goes ahead (takes precedence) is not the one whose mount and camel have taken him forward, rather the one who takes precedence is he whose sins Allah Almighty has forgiven. A person asked in a loud voice, "Where should we offer the Maghrib prayer?" He replied, "Offer it in whichever valley you find the time for Maghrib."
