It is narrated from Hazrat Mujahid that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) met a people among whom were those who recited Hadi (camel songs). When these people saw the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), their Hadi reciter became silent. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) inquired: "Which tribe are you from?" The people replied, "We are from the tribe of Mudar." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I am also from Mudar." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "What happened to your Hadi reciter that he is not reciting Hadi?" The people replied, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! We are the first Hadi reciters among the Arabs." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "How did this begin?" The people replied, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! There was a man among us," then they mentioned his name, "who was away from his camel during the days of spring. He sent his slave with the camel. The slave was delayed. Upon this, he struck the slave's hand with his staff, so the slave began to walk quickly, saying: 'Oh my hand, oh my hand.' Because of the slave's words, the camel also became active and started walking briskly and energetically. The man told him, 'Stop, stop.' After this incident, people began to recite Hadi."
