Hadith 13786
١٣٧٨٦ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا عبد اللَّه بن إدريس عن إسماعيل قال: كان الشعبي إذا سئل عن الجوار جاء (بكتاب) (١) رسول اللَّه ﷺ (إلى خزاعة) (٢): "إني قد (أخذت لمن هاجر) (٣) منكم كما أخذت لنفسي ولو كان بأرضه (غير) (٤) ساكن مكة، إلا حاجا أو (معتمرا) (٥) " (٦).
Ismail narrates that when Hazrat Sha’bi was asked about staying in Makkah, he brought forth the letter of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) which was written to the people of Khuza’ah. In that letter it was written that I have prescribed for every emigrant the same ruling as for myself, even if he was from that land, that he will not stay in Makkah except for Hajj and Umrah.
