Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Muhammad says that if a person makes Hajj obligatory upon himself and then is prevented (from completing it), he should send a sacrificial animal (hady). Then, when the sacrificial animal reaches its place, he will become lawful regarding some things and remain in the state of ihram regarding others. Then, when the next year comes, he should enter into ihram for both Hajj and Umrah, and if he combines both, then a sacrifice is also required of him. And if he wishes, when he is prevented, he may wait for a while, and when the prevention is lifted, he should go to the House of Allah and perform Umrah, and in the following year, perform only Umrah.
