Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Mujahid narrates that once Hazrat Umar was sitting near the House of Allah when some people from Iraq came for Hajj and began to perform Tawaf of the House of Allah and Sa’i between Safa and Marwah. Hazrat Umar called them and asked: Has any action other than Hajj brought you towards the House of Allah? They replied, no. He asked: Have the hooves of your camels worn down due to the hardship of the long journey? They replied, yes. He asked: Have the backs of your camels become wounded? They said, yes. He said: If your answer is yes, then you have returned with your deeds (and if your answer had been no, then you would have been at a loss).
