Hazrat Hisham states that Hasan did not consider it objectionable for a person to enter the toilet with silver coins. In those times, Allah’s name or a Qur’anic verse used to be inscribed on dirhams, which is why the scholars considered it disliked to take them into the toilet. Qasim bin Muhammad considered taking them into the toilet to be disliked, but did not see any objection in buying and selling with them.
