Hadith 12174
١٢١٧٤ - حدثنا عبدة بن سليمالن عن هشام عن أبيه عن عائشة أن أم سلمة ذكرت للنبي ﷺ نيسة (قد) (١) (رأتها في أرض الحبشة يقال لها مارية، فذكرت له ما رأت فيها من الصور فقال رسول اللَّه ﷺ) (٢): "أولئك قوم إذا مات فيهم العبد الصالح أو الرجل الصالح بنوا على (قبره) (٣) مسجدًا وصوروا فيه تلك الصور، فأولئك شرار الخلق عند اللَّه ﷿" (٤).
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that Hazrat Umm Salamah mentioned before the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) the church which she had seen in Abyssinia, whose name was Maria, and also mentioned the pictures she had seen in it. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: These are such people that when a righteous man among them dies, they build a place of worship (a place of prostration) over his grave and put his pictures in it. These are the people who are the worst of creation in the sight of Allah.
