Mukhtasar Muslim

Sayyiduna Khabbab (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I had a debt upon ‘As bin Wa’il. I went to him to collect it, but he said, “I will never give it to you until you turn away from Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his religion.” I said, “I will not turn away from Muhammad (peace be upon him) even if you die and are resurrected.” He said, “If I am resurrected after death, then I will pay your debt.” Then this verse was revealed: “Have you seen the one who disbelieves in Our verses and says, ‘I will surely be given wealth and children’? Has he looked into the unseen, or has he taken a covenant with Allah?...” to the end.
