Abu Ishaq says: I heard from Sayyiduna Bara’ (may Allah be pleased with him), he said: When the Ansar would return after performing Hajj, they would not enter their houses through the door, but would climb over from the back (wall). One Ansari came and entered through the door, so people talked to him about this. Then this verse was revealed: "It is not righteousness that you enter houses from the back, but righteousness is to fear Allah, and enter houses through their doors."
