`Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) said that` the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The example of the one who memorizes the Qur'an is like that of a camel whose leg is tied; if its owner takes care of it, it remains (with him), but if he lets it go, it runs away.

`Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that` the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The worst among you is the one who says, "I have forgotten such and such verse." Rather, he should say, "I have been made to forget." And take care of the Qur'an and remember it, for it escapes from people's hearts faster than a tied camel is released.
