Mukhtasar Muslim

Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "By Allah! The son of Maryam (peace be upon him) will surely descend (from the heavens) and he will be a ruler, he will act with justice, he will break the cross and kill the swine, and he will stop the taking of jizya. And the young camel will be left alone, then no one will labor over it. And miserliness, enmity, and jealousy will be removed from the hearts of people, and he will call people to accept wealth but no one will accept it (because there will be no need and wealth will be abundant with everyone)."

Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "What will be your condition when the son of Maryam (peace be upon him) descends (from the sky), and then one from among you will lead you in prayer?" (The narrator, Walid bin Muslim, said:) I said to Ibn Abi Dhi’b: 'Awza’i narrated to me a hadith from Zuhri, from Nafi’, from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), in which it is mentioned: 'Your Imam will be from among yourselves.' Ibn Abi Dhi’b said: "Do you know what it means that your leadership will be from among yourselves?" I said: "You tell me." So he said: "Isa (peace be upon him) will lead you according to the Book of your Lord (i.e., the Noble Qur’an) and the Sunnah of your Prophet."

Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say, "A group from my Ummah will continue to fight for the truth (against disbelievers and opponents) until the Day of Resurrection; that group will remain dominant. Then ‘Isa ibn Maryam (peace be upon them) will descend, and the leader of that group will say to him, 'Come, lead us in prayer.' He will say, 'No, some of you are rulers over others among you.' This is the honor that Allah Almighty will bestow upon this Ummah."
