Hadith 2041
Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him): We set out for Hajj or Umrah and Ibn Sayyad was with us. At one stop, we camped, people dispersed here and there, and only Ibn Sayyad and I remained. I felt great unease because of what people used to say about him (that he was the Dajjal). Ibn Sayyad brought his belongings and placed them with mine (which made me even more uneasy). I said, "It is very hot; if you put your belongings under that tree, it would be better." He did so. Then we saw some goats. Ibn Sayyad went and brought some milk and said, "Abu Sa'id! Drink the milk." I said, "It is very hot and the milk is warm," and there was no other reason for not drinking except that I disliked drinking from his hand. Ibn Sayyad said, "O Abu Sa'id! I have intended to take a rope, hang it from a tree, and hang myself because of what people say about me. O Abu Sa'id! Is the hadith of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) more hidden from anyone than it is from you Ansar? Do you not know the hadith of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) better than anyone else? Did he not say that the Dajjal would be a disbeliever, and I am a Muslim? Did he not say that the Dajjal would be childless, and my children are in Madinah? Did he not say that the Dajjal would not enter Madinah or Makkah, and I am coming from Madinah and going to Makkah?" Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "Because of such words from him, I was about to become his supporter (and consider what people said about him to be wrong), but then he said, 'By Allah! I know the Dajjal, and I know his place of birth, and I also know where he is now.' I said to him, 'Woe to you all day (meaning, what have you said, now I have become doubtful about you again).'"

Hadith 2042
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that Ibn Sayyad asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), "What is the soil of Paradise like?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "Pure white, fragrant like musk."

Hadith 2043
It is narrated from Muhammad bin Munkadir that: I saw Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) swearing an oath that Ibn Sayyad is the Dajjal. I said, "Do you swear by Allah?" He said, "I saw Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that he swore about this in the presence of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (the Prophet) did not deny it."

Hadith 2044
Narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) went with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) along with some people to Ibn Sayyad, until they saw him playing with boys near the fort of Bani Maghala. At that time, Ibn Sayyad was close to puberty. He did not notice them until the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) struck his hand on his back. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him, "Do you bear witness that I am the Messenger of Allah?" Ibn Sayyad looked at him and said, "I bear witness that you are the Messenger of the unlettered (Ummiyeen)." (Ummi refers to one who is unlettered and uneducated.) Then Ibn Sayyad said to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), "Do you bear witness that I am the Messenger of Allah?" The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) did not answer this, nor did he request him to become Muslim, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had despaired of his accepting Islam. (And in one narration, it is mentioned with a 'Saad' that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) struck him with his foot.) And he said, "I believe in Allah and His Messengers." Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him, "What do you see?" He replied, "Sometimes a truthful one comes to me and sometimes a liar." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Your matter has become confused (i.e., mixed with truth and falsehood)." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "I have hidden a matter in my heart to ask you." Ibn Sayyad said, "It is Dukhan (smoke)." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Be humiliated! You cannot go beyond your status." Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "O Messenger of Allah! Allow me, I will strike his neck." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "If he is (i.e., the Dajjal), you will not be able to kill him, and if he is not (the Dajjal), then it is not better for you to kill him." Sayyiduna Salim bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "I heard Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) say that after this, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and Sayyiduna Ibn Abi bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) went to the garden where Ibn Sayyad lived. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entered the garden, he began to hide behind the date-palm trees so that he could deceive Ibn Sayyad and listen to some of his words. Before Ibn Sayyad could see him, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saw Ibn Sayyad lying on a bed, murmuring some unintelligible words. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) remained hidden among the date-palm trees, but his mother saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and called out to him, 'O Saf!' (Saf was the name of Ibn Sayyad.) 'Here comes Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).' Hearing this, Ibn Sayyad stood up. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, 'If she had left him as he was, his matter would have become clear (we would have listened to his words and known whether he was a soothsayer or a magician).' Salim said that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said, 'Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stood among the people and praised Allah as He deserves, then mentioned the Dajjal and said, "I warn you against him, and there has not been any Prophet except that he warned his people against the Dajjal, even Nuh (peace be upon him) (whose time was very long ago) warned his people against him. But I am telling you something which no Prophet told his people: know that he will be one-eyed, and your Lord, Blessed and Exalted, is not one-eyed." (God forbid, being one-eyed is a defect, and Allah is free from every defect.) Ibn Shihab said that Umar bin Thabit Ansari narrated to me, and some of the companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) narrated to him, that on the day the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) warned the people against the Dajjal, he also said, "Between his two eyes will be written 'Kafir' (disbeliever)" (i.e., the actual letters Ka. Fa. Ra. will be written, or disbelief and wickedness will be apparent from his face), which every person who dislikes his actions will read, or every believer will read. And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Know that none of you will see his Lord before he dies."

Hadith 2045
Narrated from Sayyiduna Nafi that Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) used to say: I met Ibn Sayyad twice. The first time I met him, I said to the people, "You used to say that Ibn Sayyad is the Dajjal?" They said, "No, by Allah." I said, "By Allah! You have called me a liar. Some of you have narrated to me that he will not die until he becomes the wealthiest and most prosperous among you, and today he is just like that." He says, then Ibn Sayyad talked to us. Then I parted from Ibn Sayyad. He says, when I met him again, his eye was swollen. I said, "Since when has your eye been like this, as I am seeing?" He replied, "I do not know." I said, "The eye is in your head and you do not know?" He said, "If Allah wills, He can create an eye in this stick of yours." Then he made a sound like a donkey braying loudly. Nafi said that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar went to Umm al-Mu'mineen (Hafsa, may Allah be pleased with her) and related this incident to her. She said, "What do you have to do with Ibn Sayyad? Do you not know that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The first thing that will bring out the Dajjal to the people will be his anger (i.e., anger will bring him out)?"

Hadith 2046
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I know well what will happen with the Dajjal. He will have two flowing rivers with him; one will appear to be white water to the eye, and the other will appear to be blazing fire. Then whoever encounters this situation should enter the river that appears to be fire, close his eyes, lower his head, and drink from it—it will be cool water. And one of Dajjal’s eyes will be completely flat, upon it will be a thick piece of flesh, and between his two eyes will be written "Kafir" (disbeliever), which every believer will read, whether he knows how to write or not.

Hadith 2047
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The Dajjal will be blind in the left eye, and will have thick hair. He will have with him a garden and a fire. So his fire will actually be a garden, and his garden will actually be fire. (The scholars have said that this too is a test from Allah Almighty for His servants, so that He may establish the truth as truth and falsehood as falsehood, then disgrace him and manifest his helplessness among the people.)

Hadith 2048
Narrated from Nawwas bin Sam'an (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned the Dajjal one morning, sometimes minimizing and sometimes magnifying (i.e., sometimes belittling him and sometimes describing the greatness of his trial, or sometimes speaking loudly and sometimes softly), until we thought that the Dajjal was in the cluster of date palms. Then, when we went to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in the evening, he noticed the effect (i.e., fear and terror) on our faces. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "What is your condition?" We said, "O Messenger of Allah! You mentioned the Dajjal and minimized and magnified him, until we thought that the Dajjal is present among those date palms (i.e., his coming is very near)." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Other things besides the Dajjal are more fearful for me for you (i.e., trials and internal conflicts). If the Dajjal comes out while I am among you, then I will be his opponent before you (I will fight him) and will protect you from his evil. And if he comes out and I am not among you, then every man (Muslim) should fight him on his own behalf, and Allah will be my successor and guardian over every Muslim. As for the Dajjal, he is a young man with curly hair, his eye is protruding, as if I liken him to 'Abd al-'Uzza bin Qatan. So whoever among you encounters the Dajjal, he should recite the opening verses of Surah Al-Kahf over him. Surely, he will emerge from the road between Syria and Iraq and will spread corruption to his right and left. O servants of Allah! Remain firm upon faith." The Companions said, "O Messenger of Allah! How long will he remain on the earth?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Forty days, one day will be like a year, one day like a month, one day like a week, and the rest of the days will be like your (normal) days." The Companions said, "O Messenger of Allah! The day which will be like a year, will the prayers of one day suffice for us on that day?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "No, you must estimate (the prayers for that year)." The Companions said, "O Messenger of Allah! How will his movement on the earth be?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Like a cloud driven by the wind from behind. He will come to a people and invite them, and they will believe in him and accept his word. Then he will command the sky, and it will rain, and he will command the earth, and it will produce grass and grain. In the evening, their animals will return with their humps higher than before, their udders full, and their flanks stretched (i.e., very fat). Then the Dajjal will come to another people and invite them, but they will not accept his word. So he will turn away from them, and they will be afflicted with drought and famine, and nothing will remain in their hands of their wealth. The Dajjal will pass by a ruined land and say, 'O earth! Bring forth your treasures,' and its wealth and treasures will come out and gather before him like bees swarm around their queen. Then the Dajjal will call a young man and strike him with a sword, cutting him into two pieces as a target is split, then he will revive him and call him, and the young man will come forward with a radiant face, laughing. While the Dajjal is in this state, suddenly Allah will send down 'Isa bin Maryam (peace be upon them). 'Isa (peace be upon him) will descend at the white minaret in the east of Damascus, wearing two yellow garments, with his hands resting on the wings of two angels. When 'Isa (peace be upon him) lowers his head, drops of sweat will fall, and when he raises his head, drops like pearls will fall. Every disbeliever who smells the fragrance of 'Isa's breath will die, and his breath will reach as far as his gaze. Then 'Isa (peace be upon him) will search for the Dajjal until he finds him at the gate of Ludd (a mountain in Syria) and will kill him there. Then those whom Allah has protected from the evil of the Dajjal will come to 'Isa (peace be upon him), and he will gently wipe their faces and inform them of their ranks in Paradise. While they are in this state, Allah will reveal to 'Isa (peace be upon him) that 'I have brought forth such servants of Mine that no one has the power to fight them; take My believing servants to the mountain of Tur for refuge.' And Allah will send forth Gog and Magog, and they will descend from every height. The first of them will pass by the lake of Tabariyyah and drink all its water. Then the last of them, when they pass by, will say, 'There was once water here.' (Then they will proceed until they reach the mountain with many trees, i.e., the mountain of Bayt al-Maqdis, and they will say, 'We have killed the inhabitants of the earth, now let us kill the inhabitants of the sky,' so they will shoot their arrows towards the sky. Allah will return their arrows stained with blood, and they will think they have killed the people of the sky. (This part is not in this narration but is taken from the following narration.) And the Prophet of Allah, 'Isa (peace be upon him), and his companions will remain besieged until the head of an ox will be more valuable to them than a hundred gold coins today (i.e., there will be extreme scarcity of food). Then the Prophet of Allah, 'Isa (peace be upon him), and his companions will supplicate, and Allah will send a worm into the necks of Gog and Magog, and by morning they will all die as one man dies. Then the Messenger of Allah, 'Isa (peace be upon him), and his companions will descend to the earth and will not find a handspan of space free from their stench and filth (i.e., their decaying corpses will cover the entire earth). Then the Messenger of Allah, 'Isa (peace be upon him), and his companions will supplicate to Allah, and Allah will send birds with necks like camels, which will carry them away and throw them wherever Allah wills. Then Allah will send rain such that the earth will be ordered to produce its fruits and restore its blessings. On that day, a group will eat from a single pomegranate and will sit in its shade, using its peel as a shelter. There will be blessings in milk, so much so that a milch camel will suffice for a large group of people, a milch cow for a tribe, and a milch goat for a whole family. While people are in this state, suddenly Allah will send a pure wind, which will touch them under their armpits and take effect, so the soul of every believer and Muslim will be taken, and only the worst of people will remain, who will openly commit intercourse like donkeys, and upon them the Hour will be established.

Hadith 2049
Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) narrated to us a long hadith regarding the mention of Dajjal, and in it he also stated that it will be forbidden for him to enter the mountain passes of Madinah, and he will come to a rocky land near Madinah. Then a man will go to him who will be the best among the people, and he will say: I bear witness that you are indeed the Dajjal whose mention the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) made in his hadith. Dajjal will say to the people: Tell me, if I kill him and then bring him back to life, will you have any doubt about this matter? They will say: No. Dajjal will kill that man and then bring him back to life. So when he brings him back to life, the man will say: By Allah! I was not as sure about you before as I am now. (That is, now I am certain that you are the Dajjal.) Then Dajjal will want to kill him again but will not be able to. The narrator Abu Ishaq said: This man is Khidr (peace be upon him). (But this is not proven; rather, the evidence indicates that Khidr (peace be upon him) has passed away.)

Hadith 2050
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: The Dajjal will emerge and a man from among the Muslims will go towards him. On the way, he will meet the armed men of the Dajjal. They will ask him, "Where are you going?" He will reply, "I am going to the one who has appeared." They will say, "Do you not believe in our master?" He will say, "Our master is not hidden." The people of the Dajjal will say, "Kill him." Then they will say among themselves, "Our master has forbidden us to kill anyone until he is brought before him." Then he will be taken to the Dajjal. When he sees the Dajjal, he will say, "O people! This is the very Dajjal about whom the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) informed us." The Dajjal will order his people, and he will be struck on his head, back, and stomach. Then he will say, "Seize him and split his head open." Then the Dajjal will ask him, "Do you not believe in me (i.e., in my divinity)?" He will say, "You are the false Messiah." Then the Dajjal will order, and he will be sawn from his head down to his two feet, until he is split into two pieces. Then the Dajjal will stand between the two pieces and say, "Stand up." The man will (come to life and) stand up straight. Then he will be asked, "Do you now believe in me?" He will say, "I am even more certain that you are the Dajjal." Then he will say to the people, "O people! Now the Dajjal will not be able to do this to anyone else besides me (i.e., he will not be able to burn anyone else)." Then the Dajjal will seize him to slaughter him, but from his throat to his collarbone, he will become as if made of copper, and the Dajjal will not be able to slaughter him. Then he will seize his hands and feet and throw him away. People will think that he has been thrown into the fire, but in fact, he will be thrown into Paradise. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: This man is the greatest martyr in the sight of Allah, Lord of the worlds, among all people.

Hadith 2051
Sayyiduna Mughirah bin Shu’bah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: No one asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about the Dajjal as much as I did. Until the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Why are you worried? The Dajjal will not harm you. I said: O Messenger of Allah! People say that he will have food and rivers with him? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: He will have that, but that is even easier for Allah (Allah can give him even more authority than that, what difficulty is there in that? Meaning, whatever he has, he will not be able to mislead the believers with it).

Hadith 2052
Sayyiduna Nu’man bin Salim says: I heard Ya’qub bin ‘Asim bin ‘Urwah bin Mas’ud al-Thaqafi say that I heard ‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr (may Allah be pleased with them) say, and a man came to him and said: “What is this hadith that you narrate, that the Hour will occur after such and such period?” He (‘Abdullah) (astonished) said: “Subhan Allah, or La ilaha illallah, or he said some other similar phrase, and then said: I think now I will not narrate any hadith to anyone (because people say things and defame me). I only said that after a few days you will see a great event that will burn the house, and it will surely happen.” Then he said: “The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: ‘The Dajjal will emerge among my Ummah and will remain for forty.’ I do not know whether he said forty days, or forty months, or forty years. Then Allah, the Exalted, will send ‘Isa bin Maryam (peace be upon them), and his appearance will be like that of ‘Urwah bin Mas’ud. He will search for the Dajjal and kill him. Then for seven years, people will live in such a state that there will be no enmity between any two persons. Then Allah, the Exalted, will send a cool wind from the direction of Syria, and there will not remain on the earth anyone in whose heart is even the weight of a mustard seed of faith or goodness, but that wind will take his soul. So much so that if any of you were to enter into the heart of a mountain, that wind would reach him there and take his soul.” Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: ‘Then only the worst of people will remain in the world, hasty or foolish like birds, and their character will be like wild beasts. They will not recognize good as good, nor evil as evil. Then Satan will come to them in a form and say: Will you not obey me? They will say: What do you command us? He will say: Worship idols. They will worship idols, and despite that, their sustenance will be abundant and they will live in comfort. Then the Trumpet will be blown, and no one will hear it but will bend his neck to one side and raise it from the other (i.e., he will fall unconscious), and the first to hear the Trumpet will be the one who is plastering the trough of his camels. He will fall unconscious, and the other people will also fall unconscious. Then Allah, the Exalted, will send down rain like semen, and from it, people’s bodies will grow. Then the Trumpet will be blown again, and all the people will stand up looking on. Then it will be proclaimed: O people! Come to your Lord, and make them stand, surely they will be questioned.’ (__QUR_N__) Then it will be said: ‘Take out a group for Hell.’ It will be asked: ‘How many?’ It will be commanded: ‘From every thousand, nine hundred and ninety-nine (and from every thousand, one will be of Paradise).’ The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: ‘This is the day that will make children old (from its terror and calamity or its length), and this is the day when the shin will be uncovered (i.e., there will be hardship, or Allah, the Exalted, will reveal His shin on the Day of Resurrection, at which the believers will fall in prostration).’
