Hadith 2004
Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Indeed, there will be many tribulations. Beware! There will be many tribulations. In them, the one who sits will be better than the one who walks, and the one who walks will be better than the one who runs. Beware! When tribulation and discord descend or occur, then whoever has camels should join his camels, and whoever has goats should join his goats, and whoever has land (for cultivation) should go to his land. A man said, "O Messenger of Allah! What should the one do who has neither camels nor goats nor land?" He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: He should take his sword and strike its edge with a stone (i.e., destroy it so that nothing remains to encourage fighting), then adopt the path of protection and salvation as much as he is able. O Allah, have I conveyed Your command? O Allah, have I conveyed Your command? O Allah, have I conveyed Your command? A man said, "O Messenger of Allah! Tell me, if I am forced until I am taken to one of two ranks or two groups, and then someone strikes me with a sword or an arrow comes and kills me?" He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: He will bear his own sin and yours, and will go to Hell.
