Hadith 1958
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah, Glorified and Exalted, created Sayyiduna Adam (peace be upon him) in His image, and his height was sixty cubits. When He had completed him, He said: Go and greet that group of angels who are sitting, and listen to what they reply to you, for that will be your greeting and the greeting of your descendants. Sayyiduna Adam (peace be upon him) went and said: As-salamu ‘alaykum (peace be upon you). The angels replied: As-salamu ‘alayka wa rahmatullah (peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah), thus adding “wa rahmatullah.” So, whoever enters Paradise will be in the form of Adam (peace be upon him), that is, sixty cubits tall. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Adam (peace be upon him) was sixty cubits tall, then the people’s height continued to decrease after him up to now.
