Mukhtasar Muslim

Salim bin Amir says that Miqdad bin Aswad (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated to me, saying that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: On the Day of Resurrection, the sun will be brought near, until it will be at a distance of one mile. Salim bin Amir said: By Allah! I do not know what is meant by "mile"—whether it is the mile which is a measure of distance on earth, or the "mile" which is the stick used for applying kohl to the eyes. People will be submerged in their sweat according to their deeds. Some will be submerged up to their ankles, some up to their knees, some up to their waists, and some will have sweat bridled up to their mouths. And the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) pointed with his hand towards his mouth (meaning, sweat will reach up to the mouth).
