Hadith 1831
Sayyiduna Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Verily, Allah the Exalted grants respite to the oppressor (He loosens his reins so that he may commit much mischief and thus become deserving of punishment), but when He seizes him, He does not let him go. After that, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited this verse: “Such is the seizure of your Lord when He seizes the towns while they are doing wrong. Verily, His seizure is painful and severe.” (Hud: 102)
