Hadith 1771
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Indeed, when Allah loves a servant, He calls Jibreel (peace be upon him) and says: “I love so-and-so, so you also love him.” Then Jibreel (peace be upon him) loves him, and then he announces in the heavens: “Allah loves so-and-so, so you all love him.” Then the inhabitants of the heavens love him. After that, acceptance is placed for him in the hearts of the people on earth. And when Allah is displeased with a person, He calls Jibreel (peace be upon him) and says: “I dislike so-and-so, so you also dislike him.” Then Jibreel (peace be upon him) dislikes him, and then he announces among the inhabitants of the heavens: “Allah dislikes so-and-so, so you all dislike him.” So they also dislike him, and then enmity for him is established among the people on earth (meaning that even the righteous servants or angels of Allah on earth remain his enemies).
