Mukhtasar Muslim

Sayyiduna Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he (peace be upon him) said: Indeed, when Allah the Exalted shows mercy to a nation, He causes its prophet to pass away before the destruction of that nation, and the prophet becomes a forerunner for his nation. And when He wills the destruction of a nation, He destroys it before the prophet, and by their destruction, He cools the eyes of the prophet, because that nation denies him and disobeys his commands.
