`Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates that` the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stayed in Makkah for thirteen years during which revelation would come to him, and he stayed in Madinah for ten years. And he passed away at the age of sixty-three years.

`Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) says that` the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to hear the voice (of angels) in Makkah for fifteen years and see the light (of angels or Allah’s verses) for seven years, but did not see any form. Then for eight years, revelation used to come, and he stayed in Madinah for ten years. (This narration is rare.)
