Hadith 1583
‘Sayyiduna Urwah bin Zubair says that’ Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) used to narrate and say, “Listen, O lady of the chamber! Listen, O lady of the chamber!” And Umm al-Mu’minin Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) was performing prayer. When she finished the prayer, she said to Urwah, “Did you hear Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) and how many narrations he related in that time? And the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to speak in such a manner that if someone wanted to count (his words), he could count them (i.e., he spoke slowly and clearly, and this is the proper etiquette. Speaking hastily and rapidly is not the way of wisdom and intelligence).”
