‘Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) says that’ the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) used to go to the house of Umm Sulaym and would sleep on her bedding, and she would not be at home. One day, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came and was sleeping on her bedding. People called her and said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) is sleeping in your house on your bedding. Hearing this, she came and saw that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was sweating, and his sweat had collected on the leather bedding. Umm Sulaym opened her box and began to wipe the sweat and collect it in bottles. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) woke up startled and said, “O Umm Sulaym! What are you doing?” She said, “O Messenger of Allah! We hope for blessings for our children from this.” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “You have done right.”
